GENERAL ENGINEER

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, INFRASTRUCTURE DIVISION of NSWC PHILA DIV.


  • You will develop department product and services requirements, including capturing those requirements in writing, and providing professional expertise with selecting the most efficient means of execution.
  • You will coordinate with numerous building occupants, execution agents, and product and service line functional managers to support requested requirements.
  • You will assist with identifying future requirements including planning short/mid/long range budget, project scope, and coordinating project execution strategies for outyear programs.
  • You will support infrastructure design reviews in correlation to code compliance and applicability.
  • You will assess building, utility, and ground infrastructure offering recommended improvements for maintaining continued operational effectiveness.
  • You will track and monitor project execution status and work to ensure that schedules are maintained, making determinations of required project deviation and taking corrective action as required.
  • You will meet with division and department leadership to communicate progress of requested requirements.

Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer: Applying multidisciplinary (e.g., civil, electrical, or mechanical) engineering theories, concepts, and principles to systems utilized in industrial facilities, ship maintenance areas, test sites, or physical plants for operational, testing, or R&D purposes; Developing and validating engineering product and service requirements; and Managing the budget, schedule, and execution of approved engineering projects while coordinating with technical departments and service providers to ensure timely delivery.
